A Level Maths · Pure · Mechanics · Statistics

The jump from GCSE is real. So is closing it.

A Level maths moves faster and demands more abstract thinking than GCSE ever did. We work on the specific gap between what GCSE taught and what A Level assumes, not just "more practice."

Areas covered

  • Pure maths: algebra, functions, trigonometry, calculus, sequences and series
  • Mechanics: kinematics, forces, moments
  • Statistics: probability distributions, hypothesis testing, data representation
  • Exam technique for long, multi-mark structured questions

How I approach it

A Level maths rewards understanding the "why" behind a technique far more than GCSE does — questions are designed to be unfamiliar. Sessions focus on building that underlying understanding, alongside the fluency needed to move fast enough in the actual exam.

I'll use a strong visual approach, modelling answers live, working with Desmos and GeoGebra, and ensuring we focus on being able to answer actual exam questions.

Who this suits

Year 12 students finding the step up from GCSE harder than expected, Year 13 students focused on final grades and university offers, and anyone retaking a module or resitting the full qualification.
